A cultural artifact is an item that, when found, reveals valuable information about the society that made or used it. burial coins, painted pottery, telephones or anything else that evidences the social, political, economic or religious organization of the people whom they belonged to can be considered cultural artifacts. Rosetta Stone, Egypt, Singaporean in London, is an example of culture artifact. Discovered in Rosetta, Egypt, by a French officer in 1799, this 2,200-year-old black basalt stone is now a famous artifact. It is inscribed in hieroglyphic, demotic and Greek and is believed to hold the key to deciphering hieroglyphics and Egypt`s past.
