Write a paper that demonstrates a systematic approach (e.g., the ABC Model of Crisis Intervention) to crisis decision-making that counselors can use when confronted with crisis situations.
This project will require students to:
1. Identify a crisis scenario (e.g., the scenario can be from a current event, a personal experience, or Internet) and provide a summary explaining elements of the scenario (e.g., who, what, how).
2. Develop a counseling strategy (e.g., the ABC Model of Crisis Intervention) for solving the crisis.
3. APA format, 5 pages, including reference (5-7 citations from a textbook or other resources) and cover page.

Therapy has to be divided into crisis intervention, with actual psychiatric-psychotherapeutic intervention, into pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Crisis intervention primarily means prevention of an imminent danger of suicide. Crisis intervention should provide care and protection to the individual, i.e., protection of life, since suicide attempts often require medical care such as admission to an internal intensive care unit for detoxification or a surgical intervention. Crisis intervention also includes immediate evaluation of still existing suicidal tendencies of the patient in order to make decisions for further preventive measures: admission to a closed psychiatric ward for relapse prevention or crisis intervention on an inpatient or outpatient basis.
