A current research problem of interest to me in advanced nursing practice in Kenya is the underutilization of Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) in chronic disease management. This is a problem because chronic diseases are a growing burden in Kenya, and APNs have demonstrated capabilities globally in improving patient outcomes and access to care, yet their full scope of practice is often hindered by unclear policies and lack of integration into the healthcare system.

Research Question: What are the perceived barriers and facilitators to the full integration of Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) into chronic disease management programs within public health facilities in Kisumu County, Kenya, from the perspectives of APNs, physicians, and health administrators?
