Sample Solution

A hypothesis is an assumption, an idea that is proposed for the sake of argument so that it can be tested to see if it might be true. In the scientific method, the hypothesis is constructed before any applicable research has been done, apart from a basic background review. This is the initial point of any investigation that translates the research questions into predictions. It includes components like variables, population and the relation between the variables. A strong hypothesis is concise, clear, and defines an expected relationship between the dependent and independent variables. This relationship should be stated as explicitly as possible and must be testable. An example of a strong hypothesis: People who watch more than three hours of TV daily will wake up more frequently during the night than people who watch less than three hours of TV daily. Having a strong hypothesis is not only important for communicating with others; it also sets up a strong basis for your research.
