Every Christian believer is called to partake of the important and active roles in the mission of salvation and belief in Christ. The foundation that was laid by Christ was that which advocated for the service of humanity at large despite the socioeconomic class in the society. As disciples would be sent to engage the lost an pursue darkness, Christ was focused in in inculcating a greater sense of what His ministry was all about. As such, their work on seeking for the lost, healing the sick among others was both holy and a moral obligation. This understanding of ministry of the Church is manifested in the bible through many Characters in the new testament who in one point or another engaged in servant ministry of the church, and the servant ministry of the provisional member. This essay will diagnose and discuss the concept of “diakona’’ which is a Greek word loosely translated as Ministry, belief, or support with deep regard to servant Ministry.
