Talk about why diversity and discrimination are two important ethical factors that leaders should focus on while attempting to manage their workforce? Provide one example of how mismanaging these issues have had an impact on an organization. How would you explain the importance of these to your employees?
Diversity refers to the ways that we all are different from one another. Such differences can be in terms of our gender, sexuality, ethnicity or culture, religion or spirituality, family, our social standing, age, body size, and ability among others. Work places often contain very different people with the various description that is accorded to each of them. In many situations, there has always been report of discrimination based on the aforementioned categories and this often impacts negatively on the performance of the workforce who have fallen victims of such practices. In this discussion, I will discuss the roles of leaders in ensuring that any kind of such practices are manage ethically and the fatal challenges experienced in cases where they are not addressed.
