Description: Creative dramatics is a form of self-expression that encourages children to use improvisational drama techniques to explore their emotions, thoughts, and ideas. It allows them to express themselves in imaginative ways while developing problem solving skills (McFarlane & McInerney 2017).

Implementation: As a teacher I plan to implement creative dramatics in my classroom by providing opportunities for students to explore different roles through dramatic play. This can be done by incorporating activities such as role playing and improvisation into daily lessons or setting aside time for students to engage in free play activities within the classroom. Additionally, I will provide resources such as costumes, props and puppets which can help enhance the experience for the children. Lastly, I will ensure that there is sufficient space available for students to move about freely and safely during these activities.

Reason: The main reason why I plan on implementing creative dramatics is because it ultimately helps foster an environment where students feel safe enough to express themselves without fear of judgement. It also teaches them important problem solving skills that they may need later on when faced with difficult situations. Moreover, it allows children who are often shy or reluctant learners to become more engaged in their learning process as they are able to take part in interactive experiences which draw out their creativity (McFarlane & McInerney 2017). In conclusion, using creative dramatics provides numerous benefits both educationally and emotionally thus making it worth considering when creating lesson plans.
