How do families cope with mothers that have PPD?
PPD is basically the abbreviation of postpartum depression. New or first-time mothers have demonstrated tendencies of developing depression as a result of the stress that comes with child birth. Apart from sleep deprivations, new responsibilities also set in that make new moms think they are in an emotional roller-coaster. Under such conditions, mothers need assistance and encouragement of the immediate family members. This can be achieved helping the mother create healthy attachment with the baby, shown love and support, help them take care of themselves and creating time for them.
