As a first step, you will select one of three health policy issues from the Project Two Health Policy Issue Scenarios document. As part of the background study, you will conduct preliminary research about the selected issue and analyze the impact of the selected issue on various stakeholders. This background study and assessment of the selected issue will serve as a foundation for your Project Two final presentation. In this Project Two Preparation assignment, you will essentially analyze the selected health policy issue and describe how it influences the decision-making process in healthcare.
Your research in this Project Two Preparation will be specific to the nonfinancial impact of the selected policy on various stakeholders. In your second Project Two Preparation, which is due in Module Seven, you will explore the financial implications of the selected issues. Together, both of these Project Two Preparation assignments will prepare you for the Project Two submission due in Module Nine.

I have chosen the health policy issue of access to reproductive healthcare as my topic for this project. Reproductive healthcare includes services such as contraception, preventative care, prenatal and postnatal care, abortion and other related medical procedures. This is an important policy issue because it affects people’s ability to make informed decisions about their sexual health and reproductive rights.
In order to explain this policy issue to someone who has never heard of it before one could start by discussing how lack of access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare disproportionately impacts those from marginalized backgrounds such poverty or ethnic minority status. Additionally, one can outline various legislative attempts either protect or restrict access which both occur at federal state level (Golub et al ).
Regarding key stakeholders interest groups affected by this policy ,it is important note that a number of organizations are actively involved in pushing respective agendas on both sides. For example, religious groups like Catholic Church often fight against any form allowing abortion while advocacy groups like Planned Parenthood work towards expanding options available women( Higgins-D\’Alessandro & Gissler). Moreover, insurance companies play major role determining whether certain treatments medications covered medically necessary basis( Brixey et al).
In conclusion, accessing reproductive healthcare remains complicated due conflicting interests between different parties.
