How does the nursing metaparadigm impact the implementation of culturally proficient nursing care?
To understand clearly the concept of nursing metaparadigm, we must put into perspective the two terms. That is Nursing, and metaparadigm. Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations. A metaparadigm is a concept that is extremely general, one that serves to define an entire world of thought. "Meta" means "that which is behind," in Greek, and refers to that which under-girds something else, serving as a conceptual basis. That said, the analysis of this paper will look into details how the nursing metaparadigm has impacted over the time, the implementation of culturally proficient nursing care.
