Nowhere in history has there been sustained avalanche of literature on nutritional interventions from than the last decade. Available evidence biostatistics and epidemiological literature have helped to illuminate and discuss measures to improve the nutritional status of the populations across the globe. Despite the global transition to overnutrition, malnutrition still affected approximately 159 million children worldwide in 2014, while an estimated 50 million children were wasted (Shankar et al 2020). India is an important front in the fight against malnutrition, and is grappling with the coexistence of undernutrition, overnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies. This paper draws from biostatistics and epidemiological writings to discuss interventions to improve the nutritional status of the Indian population.
