My parents and I have a lot of similarities as well as differences. One of the most noticeable similarities is in our physical appearances. We all have dark brown hair, hazel eyes, and we are all quite tall which we often joke comes from our Italian ancestry. We also share a similar sense of humor and enjoy watching movies together on weekends.
On the other hand, there are some major differences between us too. My parents come from a traditional Italian family with many old-fashioned values whereas I am more progressive in my beliefs and embrace modern ideas such as feminism or social justice issues. Additionally, my parents were born into lower-class families so they had to work hard for everything they achieved; whereas I was fortunate enough to go to college and pursue my dreams without having to worry about money too much.
