Every organization has its own set of objectives and core values. Performance appraisal evaluates the employee`s performance based on how he has performed in the immediate past. Performance management proactively manages an employee`s performance and ensures that the employee has accomplished all the goals, vision, mission and the core values of the organization. The organization sets some objectives that should be achieved in a given period. The employees have to work towards achieving the set goals at the end of the specific period. These sets of activities form part of the performance management of the business institution (Valentine et al., 2020).
