Also known as homegrown terrorism, domestic terrorism is a form of terrorism in which victims within a specific country are targeted by a perpetrator with the same citizenship as the victims. To safeguard the citizens from such acts, the government needs to put in place counterterrorism mechanisms to neutralize the terrorists, their organizations and their networks in order to render them ineffective. these strategies include installation of CCTV cameras for surveillance, counter insurgency, subversion, sabotage as well as stabilization and information operations.
