S.E Thomas posited that a wholesaler is a trader who buys a good in bulk and resells them to retailers in small quantities with an objective of making profit. It can be argued that a manufacturer acts as an agent between manufacturers and retailers and such is not necessarily a producer of good and or services. Wholesalers are grouped into three major categories of merchants’ wholesalers, brokers and Manufacturers sale’s branches with each performing a designated role. Therefore, looking at the definition of wholesale it stands out clearly the role it plays in economy and trade.
