Shakespeare Argument or Creative Character Analysis Shakespeare’s work is still significantly relevant today because: the characters are relatable; works from a long time ago can still be relevant; and talking about the plays can possibly build friendships. Not only did Shakespeare teach us about ourselves and humanity, but also invented around 1700 words which we still use in everyday English today. For those with an interest in learning the English language more than reading its literature, Shakespeare is still important. The EA (2010) defines a disability as a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term (i.e. has lasted or is likely to last for at least twelve months) adverse effect on a person’s ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities.
