Though the origins of nursing are traced to mid- 19th century, the traditional profession of nursing began dates back to the times of Florence Nightingale. Being a daughter of a wealthy British aristocrat, Florence defied all odds to become the first nurse. Treating strangers in hospitals and at times in their homes was never recognize as a reputable career for women of her caliber. However, for Florence, she believed using scientific principles and informed education to dramatically change or improve the medical condition of the sick was a sacred calling that wasn’t going to pass by. Ideally the history of nursing is modelled around her as shall be hereby seen
