Human resource management (HRM) is the department of a business organization that looks after the hiring, management and firing of staff. HRM combines planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the procurement, development, compensation, integration, maintenance, and separation of human resources to accomplish individual, organizational and societal objectives. Components of human resource management are: human resource planning; job and work design; staffing; training and development; performance appraisal and review; compensation and reward; protection and representation; and organization improvements. Human Resource Planning is assessing the organization`s human resources needs in the light of organizational goals and making plans to ensure that a competent, stable workforce is employed.
