I recently had the opportunity to lead and inspire by example in order to solve a complex problem. I was part of a team that was tasked with creating an application for a client that would automate some of their processes. The project required us to integrate various software components into one cohesive system and there were numerous challenges along the way.
We quickly realized that this task was going to take more time than initially anticipated, so I took it upon myself to set an example of what hard work and dedication looks like by staying late and arriving early each day to work on the project. I encouraged my teammates as well, motivating them through positive reinforcement whenever they faced a hurdle or accomplished something great.
At first, my efforts went largely unnoticed but over time my teammates began taking on additional responsibilities and tasks without being asked, showing that they wanted be part of the solution just as much as me. This helped us stay ahead of schedule despite all the extra hours we put in because everyone was pulling their weight when it came down to it. Eventually we finished our application ahead of time with very few issues which not only pleased our client but gave us all sense accomplishment from seeing our hard work pay off .
