Evidence based practice (EBP) in nursing is an integration of research evidence, clinical expertise and a patient`s preferences. Evidence based practice is a crucial component in the practice of a BSN prepared registered nurse because it prepares them on various aspects of patient care, leadership and healthcare management that are evident in today`s practice. The inclusion of EBP in nursing provides nurses with the scientific research to make well-founded decisions. Through EBP, nurses can stay updated about new medical protocols for patient care.
