Why the current health care system is in turmoil.

Discuss why the current health care system is in turmoil. Identify two major problems of health care and analyze the impact of each of the chosen problems on consumers and the community. Describe the benefits and risks of national health insurance.

The current healthcare system is in turmoil due to a number of factors, which include rising costs, poor access to care, and an aging population. The cost of healthcare has been increasing rapidly over the past few decades, as new treatments and technologies become available (Neu et al., 2019). This has led to many people facing difficulty affording medical services or having to forgo treatment altogether. Furthermore, many individuals also report barriers when it comes accessing care such as long wait times for appointments or not being able to find a provider in their area that accept insurance plans (Porter et al., 2018).

As our population continues to get older more resources are needed to accommodate those who require additional assistance with managing chronic illnesses like diabetes or cardiovascular disease (Lisman-Van Leeuwen et al., 2017). This means more money is needed from public health programs such as Medicare or Medicaid so these individuals can receive the care they need without facing financial hardship. This creates strain on already limited government budgets making it difficult allocate funds elsewhere while still meeting demand (Lichtenberg & Van Parys , 2020).

In addition, the lack of coordination between different healthcare entities makes providing seamless patient care challenging leading to redundancies which increase administrative costs significantly (Meyer & Kralovec 2018). Without having proper communication protocols in place it becomes difficult identify ways improve efficiency within each organization making it difficult reduce costs overall. Furthermore, this issue also hinders collaboration between providers resulting subpar quality of care for patients (Strawbridge-Sobol et al., 2016) .

In conclusion, there are several factors contributing the current state of turmoil our healthcare system finds itself in today’s climate. Rising costs combined with limited access and inadequate infrastructure have all contributed creating an environment where resources are stretched thin without any tangible solutions yet in sight.
