A Treasury Bill

Treasury bills, also known as T-bills, are short term maturity promissory notes issued by a national government, their maturity is usually three months, but may range from just a few days to up to twelve months. T-bills are primary instruments for raising funds and regulating the money supply through open-market operations. Treasury note is a government security, usually marketable, with maturity ranging from one to five years. Because their relatively shorter maturities make them a more liquid investment than long-term securities, notes have the advantage of lower interest costs. A treasury bond, or T-bond, is a government debt security with a fixed rate of return and relatively low risk, as it is issued by the US government. You can buy treasury bonds directly from the US Treasury or through a bank, broker, or mutual fund company.

xperience— An initial demonstration was followed by a student performing the examination.
