The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution says that everyone in the United States has the right to practice his or her own religion, or no religion at all. The government should protect the right to have the religious beliefs but if the actions of those beliefs is against the law or infringes on the right and safety of other citizens, then by the directive of the First Amendment, these actions are unlawful. The First Amendment guarantees both religious freedom and the right to express oneself to the public (Krutz, 2016). This is allowed as long as it does not infringe on the safety of others. I believe that the government should protect the exercise of those beliefs as long as the actions of these beliefs as long as the actions of these beliefs does not infringe on another citizen`s safety.
