I am passionate about improving the quality of healthcare and helping people to live healthier lives, which is why I have chosen to pursue a career as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP). As an ANP I will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based care to patients in various settings. My role will include performing physical exams and diagnosing illnesses, ordering labs or imaging tests as needed, writing prescriptions or referrals for treatment, offering health education and providing patient counseling. In addition to this I will also work together with other healthcare professionals such as physicians or pharmacists in order to coordinate patient care.
The primary reason why I am interested in becoming an ANP is because it allows me to have a greater impact on the lives of my patients than any other nursing role. As an ANP I will not only be able assess and treat my patients but also provide them with compassionate support throughout their entire journey. Having autonomy over clinical decisions gives me the freedom to make lasting changes that improve outcomes while simultaneously ensuring that all patients receive the best possible care (Horowitz et al., 2020).
Furthermore, by becoming an ANP I can focus on a specific area of practice such as pediatrics or geriatrics where my years of expertise as a nurse can help make a difference in those communities. This type of specialization is important because it allows me to gain insight into particular diseases affecting certain populations so that accurate diagnoses and timely treatments can be provided.
In conclusion, pursuing certification as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner has allowed me to further develop my passion for helping others while having more control over how best serve them. By practicing in areas such as Pediatrics or Geriatrics I know that can contribute meaningfully towards improving overall public health outcomes (Horowitz et al., 2020).
