Compile research for an annotated bibliography related to clinical practice.
Submit a reference page of 6 articles, which can include the 2 you submitted for the Article Summary assignments. These will be the articles you plan on using in your annotated bibliography (due in Module 6). All articles should be published within the last five years and be from peer-reviewed journals.
This week we are focusing on soils and soil health. Soils are an essential resource for maintaining ecological stability and provide both a matrix and nutrients for plant growth that becomes food for humans and other animals to eat. In this discussion, you will learn more about what constitutes a healthy soil and start to think about ways to assess soil quality. We will focus on ways to maintain soil health and touch on some of the threats to good soil quality.
The following sources available from Shapiro Library can help you get started thinking about managing our soil resource and the impact of human activities such as farming and construction:

Then, address the following questions about your research, making sure to relate your initial post to this week’s readings and resources. Follow proper citation methods. Then answer the following questions for the area you researched:
What area did you choose, and why did it interest you?
What are the major soil issues in this area?
What conservation efforts have taken place or are in the process for this area?
Reason for Interest: Soil erosion in Kenya’s highlands is a critical issue due to its far-reaching consequences for agriculture, water resources, and biodiversity. The steep slopes, coupled with intensive land use practices, have exacerbated the problem, leading to significant soil loss and degradation. Understanding the factors contributing to this issue and exploring potential solutions is crucial for sustainable development in the region.
While these efforts have shown some success, the challenge lies in scaling up these practices and addressing the underlying socioeconomic factors contributing to soil erosion.
