CHANGE IMPLEMENTATION AND MANAGEMENT PLAN

It is one of the most cliché of clichés, but it nevertheless rings true: The only constant is change. As a nursing professional, you are no doubt aware that success in the healthcare field requires the ability to adapt to change, as the pace of change in healthcare may be without rival.
As a professional, you will be called upon to share expertise, inform, educate, and advocate. Your efforts in these areas can help lead others through change. In this Assignment, you will propose a change within your organization and present a comprehensive plan to implement the change you propose.

o Prepare:
• Review the Resources and identify one change that you believe is called for in your organization/workplace.
o This may be a change necessary to effectively address one or more of the issues you addressed in the Workplace Environment Assessment you submitted in Module 4. It may also be a change in response to something not addressed in your previous efforts. It may be beneficial to discuss your ideas with your organizational leadership and/or colleagues to help identify and vet these ideas.
• Reflect on how you might implement this change and how you might communicate this change to organizational leadership.
The Assignment (5-6-minute narrated PowerPoint presentation):

Sample Solution

The healthcare industry is constantly evolving, and one of the most significant changes in recent years has been the rise of telehealth. Telehealth allows healthcare providers to deliver care to patients remotely, using technology such as video conferencing and secure messaging.

There are many benefits to telehealth, including improved access to care, increased convenience for patients, and cost savings for healthcare organizations. For example, telehealth can help to connect patients with specialists who are located far away, and it can also provide care to patients who are homebound or have difficulty traveling.

I believe that my organization would benefit from implementing a telehealth program. We currently have a large number of patients who live in rural areas and have difficulty accessing care. Telehealth would allow us to provide these patients with the care they need, without them having to travel long distances.

In addition, telehealth could help us to reduce our costs. We could use telehealth to provide consultations with specialists, which would save us the cost of transporting patients to and from appointments. We could also use telehealth to provide follow-up care, which would free up our nurses to see more patients.

Implementation Plan

The following is a comprehensive plan to implement a telehealth program in my organization:

  1. Identify the stakeholders. The first step is to identify the stakeholders who will be affected by the change. This includes patients, nurses, physicians, and administrators.
  2. Conduct a needs assessment. Once the stakeholders have been identified, it is important to conduct a needs assessment to determine the specific needs of the organization. This will help to ensure that the telehealth program is designed to meet the needs of the organization and its patients.
  3. Develop a business plan. The next step is to develop a business plan for the telehealth program. This plan should include the goals of the program, the target population, the budget, and the timeline for implementation.
  4. Select the technology. There are a variety of telehealth technologies available, so it is important to select the technology that is right for the organization. The technology should be easy to use and secure.
  5. Train the staff. The staff who will be using the telehealth technology will need to be trained on how to use it. This training should include both technical training and clinical training.
  6. Launch the program. Once the technology has been selected and the staff has been trained, the telehealth program can be launched. It is important to monitor the program and make adjustments as needed.

Conclusion

I believe that the implementation of a telehealth program would be a positive change for my organization. Telehealth would improve access to care, increase convenience for patients, and save costs for the organization. I have outlined a comprehensive plan for implementing a telehealth program, and I am confident that this plan would be successful.

In addition to the benefits I have already mentioned, telehealth could also help to improve the quality of care. For example, telehealth could allow patients to have more frequent contact with their healthcare providers, which could lead to earlier detection of problems and better outcomes.

I believe that telehealth is the future of healthcare, and I am excited to see how it can benefit my organization and its patients.
