The characteristics of the teacher and student can have a significant impact on the teaching and learning environment. A positive teacher-student relationship is essential for creating an effective learning environment (Gruenert & Rutherford, 2016). When teachers possess strong communication skills, are well organized, demonstrate respect for students and exhibit enthusiasm in their teaching style, it tends to create a more positive atmosphere in which students feel comfortable to participate openly and actively engage in class activities (Gruenert & Rutherford, 2016). Furthermore, when teachers show respect for different perspectives from their students by recognizing diverse cultural backgrounds or ability levels they foster an atmosphere that promotes open dialogue among peers. This type of setting gives rise to meaningful discussion where ideas can be shared freely without fear of judgement (Stodt et al., 2017).

Similarly, when students contribute to this dynamic with good behavior such as participating willingly in class discussions and showing respect towards others opinions it increases morale and encourages the whole group interaction. In addition, having knowledge about a particular topic brings confidence into the classroom which helps remove any feelings of anxiety associated with sharing one’s own thoughts. The presence of motivated learners also serves as a further incentive for other pupils within the group who may not yet be willing participants(Fantini & Prado-León 2017).

In contrast however ,negative student behavior such as disruptive or disrespectful outbursts can quickly undermine any progress made by both teacher and student. Similarly unengaged teachers who lack adequate preparation or do not display enough interest during instruction can lead to confusion amongst those taking part (López-Pastor et al., 2019) . Ultimately if either party fails to observe appropriate behavior then this could result in negative attitudes being generated throughout the entire classroom leading to a disruption in learning objectives being met.

To conclude therefore ,the characteristics of both teacher and student must be taken into consideration when considering how best to improve upon overall teaching/learning environments.. If either side falls short in terms of attitude then ultimately this will have an adverse effect on general performance levels within that particular setting so maintaining positive relationships between all involved is key.
