The first step to developing a management action plan for community education programs is to review the broader strategic decisions. This should include understanding the existing legal, regulatory, and policy framework that would need to be taken into consideration when designing an effective plan (Kamal & Goel, 2019). Additionally it’s important to consider any external factors such as current funding available at both state and federal levels, political sentiment towards health initiatives in the area, and existing partnerships with other nonprofits or organizations (Kamal & Goel, 2019).
The second step of this process involves setting unit objectives which focus on addressing identified gaps or weaknesses within the community health system. For example, one objective may be to increase public awareness around preventative healthcare measures available in rural areas (Kamal & Goel, 2019).
Once these objectives have been established the next step is to identify all the actions that will need to be taken in order to achieve these objectives. In this case some possible actions could include: creating educational materials for distribution throughout communities; hosting information sessions about key health topics; and implementing culturally appropriate language translations where required (Kamal & Goel, 2019).
Following this each action needs timelines set so that progress can be monitored over time. Additionally assigning responsibility to specific individuals or teams who are responsible for completing each task helps create accountability towards achieving desired outcomes (Kamal & Goel, 2019). Resources requirements must also be considered – such as providing adequate funding or personnel depending on what type of tasks are involved in implementing the proposed plan. Lastly, it’s important measure results throughout implementation in order ensure goals are being achieved and make adjustments if needed along the way (Kamal & Goel, 2019).
