John Wilden Hughes Jr. (February 18, 1950- August 6, 2009) was an American filmmaker. Although Hughes made great movies about adults and children, he will be forever associated with teenagers, and for a good reason. The movies he made in the 1980s about teens, including “Sixteen Candles,” “The Breakfast Club,” and “Pretty in Pink,” did nothing less than revolutionize the youth film genre. These movies made a great sociological impact, changing the way many young people think about everything from love and friendship to sex, class distinction, fashion and music.

However, he has still not doubted everything, as there are some things that still apply in dreams, such as mathematics and geometry.
