Drug, sex and Violence

Substance use, risky sexual behavior and violence are among the key youth health issues today. Drug and alcohol use have been associated with increased risk for sexual violence. The nonmedical use of prescription opioids has become an area of increasing public health concern in the United States and rates of use are particularly high among young adults (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration [SAMHSA], 2014).
