In philosophy and models of scientific inquiry, post-positivism, also known as post-empiricism, is a metatheoritical stance that critiques and amend positivism. A post-positivist theory can be assessed on the basis of whether it is accurate, consistent, has broad scope, parsimonious, and fruitful [Thomas Kuhn, 1962].
