Environmental Conservation Report One – Estonia

T‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍he impact of humans on the environment differs among countries. Analyze the population change of one of Estonia and identify the environmental problems relating to this change. In this report, you will need to analyze and explain the changes in the population structure in your chosen country. Once you have given a comprehensive overview of these changes, state how these changes will affect the environment within that country. This report should be five pages long single-spaced in 12-point font (not including diagrams). It should be fully referenced and include a bibliography of the sources used for your material. At least two sources should be used and fully referenced. https://www.census.gov/data-tools/demo/idb/#/country?YR_ANIM=2021 Collect research material relating to your country’s demography and its environmental problems. Tasks 1. Introduction to your chosen country. This should include but is not limited to: The geography and location (climate topography water resources soils etc.) of your country Its level of economic development (developed developing resources major industries) Urbanization (major cities, movements) Transportation History (Brief) Social Cultural implications Political Task 2 From the information collected produce a written analysis of the changes that have taken place in your country’s population structure. Give reasons for these changes and try to predict possible future trends (look at a past population rates, present and how they will change in the future use maybe a thirty-year span). In this analysis areas which have to b‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍e included (but not limited to) are Birth rates Death rates Natural increase rates Patterns of migration (regional national international) Age structure Fertility rates Infant mortality rates Population density Life expectancy ask 3 The second part of your report will focus upon the environmental problems faced by your chosen country. You will need to explain the major environmental problems that your country faces, the sources of these problems and specific examples within your country. You need to use illustrations maps, graphs etc. to enhance your work in this section This could include topic areas such as (but not limited to): Air pollution Water pollution Soil erosion Problems relating to urban expansion Waste problems Destruction of habitats Task 4 The conclusion of your report should focus on what was identified in part one and two. You should conclude the paper stating how you think the changes in demographic structure (identified in task 2) would affect the environmental problems (identified in task 3) o

On one of the course’s literature reading, we were introduced to the works of Shratz (2006) where he proposed that “every new innovation or initiative, teachers go through a sequence of changes characterised by four states of awareness from unconscious incompetence competence where a teacher is unaware of the limitations of their knowledge” striving towards to unconscious competence where a teacher has internalised new competencies. It highlights that as a teacher develops professionally that more sophisticated levels of reflection are attained. Although I consider it is important to have the subject knowledge in order to teach the subject, but that it is also closely linked to pedagogical knowledge in order to teach it successfully. For example, having an awareness of common misconceptions and by way of looking at them, we can forge links and connections between mathematical ideas and have the flexibility that comes from seeing alternative ways of looking at the same idea or problem are essential for effective teaching.

As we explored the development of the mathematics curriculum over the past 35 years, it is prevalent on a number of reports identified that there is a need to renew the focus on approach to problem solving. Gove (2013) outlines that reform of these key subjects (English and maths) was, ‘a matter of pressing urgency’: “The new mathematics GCSE will demand deeper and broader mathematical understanding. It will provide all students with greater coverage of key areas such as ratio, proportion and rates of change and require them to apply their knowledge and reasoning to provide clear mathematical arguments. It will focus on ensuring that every student master the fundamental mathematics that is required for further education and future careers . It will provide greater challenge for the most able students by thoroughly testing their understanding of the mathematical knowledge needed for higher-level study and careers in mathematics, the sciences and computing. …” Prompting exam boards like OCR (2015) to revise their exam questions “There will
