HEALTHCARE INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Health care organizations must have a comprehensive Healthcare Information System to support all applications, such as EHR systems. Healthcare Information Systems are composed of many different parts, each with their own function. It is important to have an understanding of these systems.
Imagine you are an IT Analyst working for a health care organization. This can be an organization that you currently work with, have read about in your research, or an organization that you’d like to work with.

Prepare a 10–12 multimedia-rich slide presentation that focuses on the personnel structure of the department and the details of the Healthcare Information System. This presentation must include detailed speaker notes describing the applications, hardware, and network with this health care organization, including a network diagram.
Your presentation should cover the following:
Presentation Introduction (1 slide)
Title and Introduction
Healthcare Information Technology Department Chart (2 slides)
An organizational chart that shows the roles in your current department (i.e., Chief Information Officer, Project Manager, Healthcare IT Analyst, etc.)
A brief description of each role in the department
Overview of IT System (1 slide)
An illustrative diagram of the entire IT infrastructure, including network, hardware, and applications
Section 1: Hardware (2 slides)
Describe the functions of each of the hardware components. Include details of the importance of the hardware components and their relation to the other components of the Healthcare Information System.
Section 2: Network (2 slides)
Describe the functions of each of the network components. Include details of the importance of the network components and their relation to the other components of the Healthcare Information System.
Section 3: Applications (2 slides)
Describe the functions of each of the Clinical and non-clinical application components, including the EMR system. Include details of the importance of these applications and their relation to the other components of the Healthcare Information System.
