Psychology history demonstrates how the field began and developed in response to modern culture, politics, economics and current events. Studying the field’s successes and mistakes, alongside today’s emerging findings, teaches students how to think critically about psychology. For example, in 1879, Willhelm Wundt found the first experimental psychology lab in Leipzig, Germany, marking the moment psychology becomes its own field of study. The earliest known writings about psychological topics date to 1550B.C.E. It was then that the Ancient Egyptians wrote about several psychological conditions such as depression and schizophrenia, among them, in the Ebers Papyrus. Granted, the Egyptians believed that these psychological conditions had supernatural causes, so the Ebers Papyrus wasn’t exactly a science-based reliable diagnostic manual like the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of  Mental Disorders [D.S.M-5] is today. However, the very fact that the Egyptians understood that difficulties of the mind existed and sought to explain why they occurred, laid the groundwork for the development of psychology over the millennia.

Furthermore, by not using a leading title question, the research data was considered non-subjective, which in regard made strength in providing qualitative data accessible.
Then again, the word ‘concern’ wasn’t suggestible in each question, therefore not focused upon to influence answers. This made the advantage of forming a conclusion more viable.

What’s more, made the results limited and refutes the validity of them as more data could have been analysed and used to narrow down the themes.

Results were also different in the area of the age difference of the participants. More life experience was evident from one participant than the other.
