One example of improvement and optimization of human performance in a technical industry setting within the last 15 years is the use of robotic systems. Robotic systems are used to automate tasks such as welding, drilling and cutting which can be physically demanding for workers due to their constant repetition while also being time consuming if done manually. The implementation of robots eliminates these issues since these machines are capable of performing tasks with more accuracy and speed than humans while also reducing any physical strain put on employees by taking on jobs that require extensive reach, force or sustained postures which could lead to fatigue and injury over time.
