As a social work student with career aspirations of working in the field of mental health counseling, I think it’s important for me to understand how interventions are conducted and managed. Engaging in this practice while still in school will give me valuable experience that could prove invaluable when I become a licensed counselor. Understanding different approaches and strategies used by social workers would equip me with the skills needed to effectively assess & intervene with my own clients.
Overall, understanding the role of social worker interventions is essential for any aspiring professional who wishes to make an impactful contribution within his/her field. Not only does this provide a way for us to better serve our clients but also gives us key insight into what it takes to successfully manage cases from beginning till end—which makes all the difference when building strong relationships between practitioner and patient.
