Based on what I have learned in this course, I believe that my current leadership skills are strong. I am a natural leader and I am able to motivate and inspire others to achieve great things. I am also good at delegating tasks and providing clear direction. However, there are always areas where I can improve. I would like to become better at conflict resolution and at building relationships with my team members.

Identifying My Primary Leadership Style

My primary leadership style is transformational leadership. Transformational leaders are able to inspire and motivate their followers to achieve great things. They do this by creating a shared vision, providing clear direction, and empowering their followers to take ownership of their work. I believe that transformational leadership is the most effective leadership style because it can create a highly motivated and productive team.

Identifying Two Leadership Theories/Styles That Would Be Beneficial to My Current/Future Leadership Role

In addition to transformational leadership, I believe that two other leadership theories/styles would be beneficial to my current/future leadership role: servant leadership and authentic leadership.

  • Servant leadership is a leadership style in which the leader puts the needs of their followers first. Servant leaders are humble and selfless, and they are always willing to help their followers grow and develop. I believe that servant leadership would be beneficial to my leadership because it would help me to build stronger relationships with my team members and to create a more collaborative work environment.
  • Authentic leadership is a leadership style in which the leader is genuine and transparent. Authentic leaders are honest with their followers and they are not afraid to be vulnerable. I believe that authentic leadership would be beneficial to my leadership because it would help me to build trust with my followers and to create a more positive work environment.

Summarizing My Understanding of Both

  • Servant leadership: Servant leaders put the needs of their followers first. They are humble and selfless, and they are always willing to help their followers grow and develop. Servant leaders create a collaborative work environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
  • Authentic leadership: Authentic leaders are genuine and transparent. They are honest with their followers and they are not afraid to be vulnerable. Authentic leaders build trust with their followers and create a positive work environment.

Explaining How I Would Apply Both to Make Me a More Effective Leader

I would apply servant leadership and authentic leadership in the following ways to make me a more effective leader:

  • I would put the needs of my followers first. I would listen to my followers and I would take their needs into consideration when making decisions. I would also be willing to help my followers grow and develop.
  • I would be humble and selfless. I would not let my ego get in the way of my leadership. I would be willing to admit when I am wrong and I would be open to feedback.
  • I would be honest with my followers. I would not sugarcoat things or try to hide the truth from them. I would also be transparent about my own strengths and weaknesses.
  • I would be vulnerable with my followers. I would not be afraid to show my emotions and to be open about my struggles. This would help to build trust with my followers and it would create a more positive work environment.

Examining My Results from the Following Assessments Completed Throughout the Term: Authentic Leadership and Emotional Intelligence

My results from the authentic leadership assessment showed that I am a moderately authentic leader. I am good at being genuine and transparent, but I could improve at being more humble and selfless. My results from the emotional intelligence assessment showed that I have high emotional intelligence. I am good at understanding and managing my own emotions, and I am also good at understanding and managing the emotions of others.

Overall, I believe that I have the potential to be a very effective leader. I have strong leadership skills and I am open to learning and growing. I am confident that I can use servant leadership and authentic leadership to create a positive and productive work environment.
