Legislative Issue
The legislature is that organ of the government which passes the laws of the government. It is the agency which has the responsibility to formulate the will of the state and vest it with legal authority and force. Legislature is important in every democratic state. It is the assembly of the elected representatives of the people and represents national public opinion and power of the people. One of the most notable demographic developments today is the growth of the Latino population in America, a development that’s having a big impact on politics and policy. Although the terms Hispanic and Latino are used interchangeably to identify the Hispanic population as a whole, the group is far from monolithic. Delaware representative Joseph Miro [R] may represent only a fraction of his state, but for Delaware Latinos, he is their man. Despite the small number of Latino legislators in the state, Miro says the Hispanic community’s clout is growing.
