Why might a law enforcement officer have difficulty upholding oaths relating to an individual’s constitutional rights?
Each law enforcement officer swears to uphold law and to defend an individual’s constitutional rights. One of the very many challenges police officers face is the ability to give absolute allegiance to such oaths. While its agreeable that all police officers have authority to use necessary force to uphold the law, especially in cases where there is total no-compliance from the public or individual citizens. In such cases, a law enforcing officer is left in suspense as to whether to uphold the oath or actually use unnecessary force that can cause death or destruction of properties. While in some instances they administer brutal force especially when their lives are in danger.
