First, using the information found, develop a one to two page maximum overview of the disease outbreak and the causal microbe.

Second, design a map showing the origin and spread of the infection.

Third, design a guide for communities on surveillance, control, preparedness and response to the outbreak. If this includes quarantine, describe how the community would carry this out, what resources would be needed, and what the communication protocol would be.

Ebola virus disease is a deadly disease with occasional outbreaks that occur primarily on the African continent. It mostly affects people and nonhuman primates such as monkeys, gorillas, and chimpanzees, it is caused by an infection with a group of viruses within the genus Ebolavirus. It was first discovered in 1976 near the Ebola River in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo. Since then, the virus has been infecting people from time to time, leading to outbreaks in several African countries. The virus spreads to people initially through direct contact with the blood, body fluids and tissues of animals. It then spreads to other people through direct contact with body fluids of a person who is sick with or has died from Ebola virus disease. Symptoms of Ebola are treated as they appear. There is currently no antiviral drug licensed to treat Ebola disease. Drugs that are being developed to treat Ebola work by stopping the virus from making copies of itself.

Because Your Daddy Loves You Picture Book/Realistic Fiction
Clements, A., & Alley, R. (2009). Because Your Daddy Loves You. Boston: Sandpiper.
Because Your Daddy Loves you is the story of a young girl and her father at the beach one day. It is a very simple and basic picture book which outlines the love a father has for his little girl. Like every day at the beach with young children it comes with many minor dramas; a lost shoe, a ball that gets carried out to sea and a dripping ice cream cone. Small dramas which can be frustrating for any parent but Daddy in the book finds a loving, kind and patient way to fix each and every problem because he loves his little girl so much! There is no mummy in this book, so it is up to Daddy to hunt for the shoe until they find it. It shows many different scenarios where a young girl can be dependent on her Daddy and how it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a Mummy also because Daddy’s can be just as caring and patient! A very sweet picture book showing Daddy doing his best for his little girl. No mother is shown so it could be assumed to be about a single father but could also be about Mum being out for the day!
