Determine what initiatives or work groups your preceptor is a part of that support the national patient safety goals and/or NDNQI quality indicators, or discuss your research on and experience with national patient safety goals and NDNQI quality indicators.
National Patient Safety Goals and NDNQI Quality Indicators
The National Patient Safety Goals (NPSGs) are annual goals developed by The Joint Commission to improve patient safety in healthcare organizations. The NDNQI Quality Indicators (NDNQI) are a set of measures that are used to assess the quality of nursing care.
Both the NPSGs and NDNQI are important tools for improving patient safety and quality of care. By participating in initiatives or work groups that support these goals and indicators, healthcare professionals can help to create a safer and more effective healthcare system for all.
My Preceptor’s Involvement in Patient Safety and Quality Initiatives
My preceptor is a member of the hospital’s Patient Safety Committee. This committee is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve patient safety throughout the hospital. My preceptor is also a member of the NDNQI User Group. This group meets regularly to discuss the NDNQI data and to develop strategies for improvement.
In addition to her work on these committees, my preceptor is also involved in a number of other patient safety and quality initiatives. For example, she is a member of the hospital’s sepsis team and the falls prevention team. She is also involved in the development and implementation of new clinical protocols and procedures.
My Research and Experience with National Patient Safety Goals and NDNQI Quality Indicators
I have conducted research on a number of the NPSGs and NDNQI quality indicators. For example, I have researched the following:
My research has shown that these goals and indicators are important for improving patient safety and quality of care. For example, I have found that:

Conclusion
The National Patient Safety Goals and NDNQI Quality Indicators are important tools for improving patient safety and quality of care. Healthcare professionals can play a vital role in supporting these goals and indicators by participating in initiatives or work groups, conducting research, and sharing their knowledge and experience with others.
In addition to the specific initiatives and examples that I have mentioned above, I am also committed to improving patient safety and quality in all aspects of my work. For example, I am always mindful of the potential for medication errors and I take steps to prevent them. I am also vigilant about identifying and reporting safety hazards. I believe that every healthcare professional has a responsibility to contribute to the creation of a safer and more effective healthcare system for all.
