Instructions:
Scenario: Anna is a 28-year-old female who was prescribed Bactrim DS for a Urinary Tract Infection three days ago. Today, Anna woke up with hives all over her legs and arms. She was also wheezing and could not catch her breath. Her roommate was very worried about her and decided to call 911. When EMS arrived, Anna was not able to talk and was in respiratory distress. Because Anna was in severe respiratory distress, EMS took the measure of securing her airway by inserting an endotracheal tube (ETT). Once Anna’s airway was securely managed, EMS then gave her a dose of Benadryl and Epinephrine prior to transporting her to the hospital. These medications will help decrease the manifestations of the allergic reaction. Anna remains ventilated and is admitted to the ICU for further care.

Answer the following questions related to this scenario:

Why are ventilated clients at risk for pneumonia? Explain your response.
What nursing interventions can be taken to prevent pneumonia? Explain the rationale for your response.
The patient most likely had an allergic reaction to the Bactrim DS that she was taking. Why did the reaction occur on the third day?
The patient has multiple intravenous lines. One of the intravenous IV sites is red and the patient winces in pain when the nurse palpates around the site. The site is slightly swollen. What complication does the nurse suspect? What action should the nurse take to prevent further complication at the compromised site?
The patient has a full recovery and is ready for discharge. What discharge instructions would you provide to the patient regarding future administration of Bactrim DS?

Nursing interventions for clients with complex disorders

Ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is defined as a pneumonia occurring more than 48 hours after intubation and initiation of mechanical ventilation. VAP typically affects critically ill persons that are in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Intubated patients are at increased risk for pneumonia because of the impairment in mucociliary clearance caused by the endotracheal tube. The top nursing practices for reducing VAP risk in critically ill adults include: minimize ventilator exposure; provide excellent oral hygiene care; coordinate care subglottic suctioning; maintain optimal positioning and encourage mobility; and ensure adequate staffing in ICU as it provides nurses with the time, opportunity, and resources to implement care practices that reduce risks, and it allows them to spend more time with their patients, which may lead to early identification of VAP and prompt treatment.

The Progession of Poems
Adrienne Rich and Paulo Freire share a common theme in transition and society. Both are talking about the transformation of society and the relationship people have in writing. Freire talked about the way teachers teach the students, and there is no contradiction as they are sitting there waiting for information. Rich uses a similar theory in her essay “When we die” where she talks about society and how it is suppressed. Both have similar theories, but they have different ways to express their arguments.

“When doing mechanical language training in a mechanical way, students can train like well-trained parrots. When stimulating, students can repeat the whole thoroughly. :: ^ In addition to the received teaching materials, students must take the first lesson to apply what they remember or what they are doing to the communication context designed by the classroom group. In the mid-seventies This approach was proposed due to dissatisfaction with structural and behavioral language teaching methods, which is currently widely used in textbooks not only in the west but also in our Libya school training centers. In addition to secondary school textbooks, most petroleum departments and bank training centers apply this method to English classes.

Talk about playing that language! This is a wonderful poem that teaches students the flexibility of language. The interesting thing about this poem is that students can understand what is going on, even if there are meaningless words like “vorpal” or “uffish”. A monster named “bandersnatch” captures the imagination of the student. Lewis Carroll uses portmanteaus to create new words – this is an interesting challenge to have your own students try. This is a poem that I like to make my students bit me. I handed it to them and waited. My student sat for a while, and I will assign a burn about it. A few minutes later, the students showed a reaction “Oh”. Candlelight is a rather annoying symbol in literature, but I always like Edna St. Vincent Mirei to overturn our expectations for this poem. The students said they were proud of themselves, sadness, full of hope, and a little lost. I like 4 rows of packaging very much!
