Organizational culture and values

The vision, mission, and values statements form the foundation for all activities in an organization. The vision statement describes what the organization will become in the future. The mission statement leads to strategic goals. The value statement defines how people in the organization should behave. It provides a guideline for decision making. When a health system`s nursing workforce is fully aligned with the stated vision and mission of the organization and processes are in place to reinforce this alignment, nurse engagement and patient experience improve, as do clinical outcomes.
