o 50 seat fine dining restaurant
o Spa and health centre
The proposal is to take into consideration environmental sustainability measures that the new owner wants to implement within the design of the hotel to minimise the environmental footprint.
To ensure well informed decision making, you are required to prepare a planning and design proposal report.
You will need to select a location for The Retreat hotel in one of the following areas of natural beauty:
• Kakadu National Park
• Daintree Rainforest
• Hayman Island
Within your proposal you should –
o Select three (3) hotels within Australia that have successfully implemented sustainability into their design. Summarise each​‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍​ hotel’s sustainability measures.
o Critically analyse three (3) challenges of planning and designing hotel facilities in regional areas.
Regarding The Retreat –
o Provide an overview of the chosen location – target market, major tourist attractions, competitors, etc.
o Discuss the environmental sustainability measures that you plan to incorporate into each of the hotel facilities, highlighting how these will: o Minimise the environmental footprint of the property
o Support the profitability of the property o Identify the points of difference/unique selling points that will distinguish the hotel from competitors.
