Political culture is the set of values, beliefs, and attitudes that people have about their political system and their role in it. It is a way of understanding how people think about politics and how they participate in the political process.
There are three main types of political culture:
- Individualistic political culture: This type of political culture emphasizes individual rights and limited government. People in this culture believe that the government should play a limited role in people's lives and that individuals should be free to pursue their own interests.
- Moralistic political culture: This type of political culture emphasizes the importance of civic duty and the public good. People in this culture believe that the government should be active in promoting the common good and that citizens have a responsibility to participate in the political process.
- Traditionalistic political culture: This type of political culture emphasizes the importance of order and tradition. People in this culture believe that the government should maintain the existing social order and that change should be gradual.
