Push, pull and interactive communication methods are different ways of exchanging information between two or more people. Push communication is when one person sends information out to multiple receivers without feedback from each receiver; it usually occurs in the form of emails, newsletters, or other broadcast messages. Pull communication involves individual receivers requesting specific pieces of information that they need as opposed to a blanket message being sent out; this can be done through web searches, surveys, or phone calls. Lastly interactive communication is direct dialogue between sender and receiver meant to provide clarity on an issue while also building relationships with them (Wright 2019).
I have used all three types of communications in different scenarios throughout my career. For example when I wanted to spread news about an upcoming event at work I chose push communication because it allowed me to send one message out to many people simultaneously instead of having to contact everyone individually which would have taken a lot more time and effort. In another instance when I needed advice from a mentor for how best handle something at work I opted for pull communication and reached out via email asking for their guidance without providing too much background information so that they could give me their opinion without any bias due to prior knowledge. Last but not least, when there was some conflict between two coworkers that needed resolution I chose interactive communication by arranging for both parties involved sit down together where we could openly discuss their issues face-to-face in order reach a compromise peacefully (Wright 2019).
Overall, these three types of communications all have their own pros and cons depending on the situation so it’s important to consider what method will lead us towards our desired outcome most efficiently before deciding on which one use.

GanpatipuleI was on an excursion in Ganapatipule, which is a town on the coast on the west side of India, arranged right on the Indian Ocean.
