Would chances of recidivism be as high had the original punishment for the juvenile offender been harsher than probation?¨ is the preferred research topic or something strongly related. I attached a file named ¨J. Doe-Sample Draft Proposal¨ which shows the layout and sample of how the completed paper should look. Also attached is a document titled ¨Research Proposal Activity (1)" which contains my proposed research topic and the variables regarding the topic. Finally I uploaded a graded rubric with the requirements titled : ¨Draft Proposal Grading Rubric¨
Recidivism is the act of a person repeating an undesirable behavior after they have either experienced negative consequences of that behavior, or have been trained to extinguish that behavior. It is also used to refer to the percentage of former prisoners who are rearrested for a similar offense. Probation can to some extent be blamed for recidivism since most juveniles take advantage of the fact that that they are likely to be released on probation rather than serving jail term. If the system imposed harsher punishment, it would act as deterrence and thus scaring most juveniles from criminal activities.
