My experience with research and data analysis began during my undergraduate studies when I enrolled in a course in Social Science Research Methods. Through this course, I developed an understanding of the research process and learned how to analyze qualitative and quantitative data from several sources. In addition to learning about various types of statistical tests, I was introduced to software such as SPSS and STATA which are used for analyzing large datasets. Since then, I have continued to use these tools to conduct further analyses on various topics such as the comparison between different educational methods or the effects of different interventions on student outcomes.
More recently, I have had the opportunity to take part in a number of research projects related to criminal justice reform. These projects allowed me to gain valuable experience in designing surveys, collecting data through interviews, focus groups etc., coding qualitative responses into quantitative variables, exploring possible relationships between variables using software like SPSS/STATA, creating visualizations (e.g., bar charts), and presenting findings at conferences. All these experiences have contributed towards increasing my skillset in both traditional academic research as well as more applied forms of social science research; which has been invaluable for my professional development.
I am particularly interested in using machine learning techniques such as natural language processing (NLP) for predictive analytics within health care environments. My ultimate goal is to use technology-driven solutions that can help healthcare providers make informed decisions based on real-time patient data rather than relying solely on manual processes or historic trends alone. With this knowledge base I hope to be able apply my skills towards improving patient care quality and efficiency by providing evidence driven insights that can be implemented quickly across provider networks regardless of size or location.
