The results of this study suggest that exposure to service dogs is significantly linked to both perceived organizational support (POS) and receptivity to service dogs in policing. We found that officers who had more exposure to service dogs reported higher levels of POS, and they were also more likely to be receptive to the idea of having a service dog themselves. These findings suggest that service dogs may be a valuable tool for promoting wellness and reducing stress among police officers.
