Understanding the integumentary system is essential for healthcare professionals, as it is involved in many common skin conditions and diseases. It is also relevant for individuals who want to maintain healthy skin and hair.
The most valuable topic for me was the physiological functions of the integumentary system. Understanding how the skin helps to regulate body temperature, protect against injury, and sense the environment was particularly interesting and informative.
I struggled to understand the different types of skin cells and their functions. The complexity of the epidermis and dermis made it difficult to visualize the structures and their roles.
